Kenyan producer and musician DTX is set to release his latest single โ€œGet Downโ€ featuring powerhouse rapper Fena Gitu, rising star Mr Tee and trap sensation Boutross.

The record mixes the urban Kenyan pop genre, Arbantone, popular for sampling Dancehall and Kenyan classics, while inviting todayโ€™s generation of artists an opportunity to give it fresh flair.

The track boldly draws inspiration from the iconic Genge hit, modernising Prezzo and Naziziโ€™s club banger, โ€œLetโ€™s Get Downโ€.

โ€œI love how Arbantone and Gengetone sample great songs of the past. I hoped to bring back the nostalgia of some of my favourite artists growing up. Prezzo was one of them, and his song with Nazizi was the very inspiration for this track,โ€ DTX says.

Rapper Fena Gitu, known for her genre fluidity, infuses depth and soul into โ€œGet Down.โ€ On the other end, Boutross, among the pioneers of Nairobiโ€™s trap movement, injects lyrical grit and contemporary flair. Lastly, Mr. Tee, a dominant voice in the Arbantone scene, adds a youthful fire and street resonance, making the track an all-generation appealing piece of art.

โ€œItโ€™s about owning your space and your moment. No matter whatโ€™s going on around you, you have the right to live loud, be unapologetic, and enjoy yourself. Itโ€™s a reminder that music is freedom. So dance and get down as low as you can!โ€ DTX adds.

Like many of his collaborations, DTX is determined to shape the industry one track at a time.

This nostalgic and forward-thinking approach revives a beloved Kenyan classic, while layering it with respectable contemporary rhythms and voices, making music that is set to fire up dancefloors across the nation.
