President William Ruto has urged supporters of the Harambee Stars to be disciplined during Sundayโ€™s game against Zambia at Nairobiโ€™s Kasarani Stadium.

While saying the team has done the country proud with their impressive run at the African Nations Championship competition, popularly known as CHAN, President Ruto called on fans to be in their best behaviour as well.

โ€œFans and the people of Kenya, you have done a tremendous job cheering Harambee Stars, but we must do so within the parameters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF),โ€ he said on Friday.

He made the remarks when he addressed a delegation of leaders from Kisii and Nyamira counties at State House, Nairobi.

He urged fans without tickets to enjoy the match at the public viewing arenas that have been set up across the city by the Nairobi County government.

President Ruto was responding to the chaotic scenes witnessed during the Harambee Stars match versus Morocco, which saw rogue supporters breach Kasaraniโ€™s security.

A victory for Harambee Stars on Sunday will see them secure the top spot in Group A and host their quarter-final match at Kasarani.

Morocco and DRC are locked on six points and will play each other in the final group A fixture at theย Nyayo Stadium, a game will start concurrently at 3 p.m.
