Popular Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki, alias Samidoh, has paid tribute to the late John DeMathew on his 6th death anniversary.

The father of five took to social media to share a moving message alongside throwback photos sharing the stage with John back when his journey in music was just beginning.

Samidoh explained that his tribute did not only end with the post but was also echoed during his weekend live performance.

Together with fellow Mugithi artistes, he dedicated a special set in DeMathew’s honour, thrilling fans who still hold the late legend close to their hearts.

John DeMathew’s 2nd wife Carolyne, kids lay roses on his grave during 6th death anniversary

DeMathew tragically lost his life in 2019 after his car rammed into a lorry near Blue Post along the Thika–Nairobi Highway.

His death shocked the Mugithi fraternity, as he was largely regarded an icon of the genre.

Samidoh’s tribute sparked an outpouring of love and nostalgia, with many fans also penning their memories of the late singer.

John’s second wife, Carolyne, also honoured him in a special way.

She visited his well-maintained grave with her children, where they laid roses in his memory.

Carolyne also expressed gratitude to her support system for standing by her all these years and helping her raise the children since his passing.
