Former Senior Advisor to President William Ruto, Moses Kuria, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, openly criticized several leaders, including Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
Kuria accused Duale of making remarks that unfairly targeted the entire Mt. Kenya region. He stressed that he would firmly oppose any effort to condemn the community as a whole.
โIn the recent past, I have listened to a number of leaders allege that there is a community that thinks itโs more superior than others. From Kamket to Mandago to Aden Duale in Balambala today. Some of us have unapologetically said NO to returning this country to the politics of negative ethnicity. Equally, we will vehemently resist Wholesale condemnation and collective punishment of an entire community,โ Kuriaโs statement on X read in part.
Kuria , who recently resigned from his advisory role in Rutoโs government, challenged CS Aden Duale and Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago to aim their political attacks at individuals instead of dragging the entire Mt. Kenya community into their rhetoric.
He also warned that their continued wholesale onslaught against the region could spark serious consequences.
โIf you have a problem with any individual from the Mt Kenya Community do not take it out against an entire people. If Mt Kenya people have eaten your goat Kamket, Mandago or Duale do let me know I will pay you back. Do not drive our backs against the wall. A point of no return may lead to very unintended consequences,โ Kuria retorted.
On Saturday, August 16, 2025, Health CS Aden Duale declared that the era of community entitlement in national politics has come to an end.
He stressed that with devolution and the new constitution, every community now enjoys an equal share of the national cake.
โThe days of entitlement are over that one community is more important than any other community is gone. It has gone after the new constitution and after the advance of devolution,โ Duale stated.
Duale also rallied the North Eastern region to fully support President William Rutoโs re-election bid.
