Ngare said the deceased had been found lying unconscious and surrounded by members of the public at TM area, in Narok town.

โ€œThe members of the public told the police that the deceased had been subjected to mob justice on the allegation of stealing a cow belonging to Felix Lemomo. He was rushed to Narok County Referral hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,โ€ said the police boss.

However, relatives and friends of the deceased have strongly opposed the allegations and claim that their kin was transported in a probox vehicle before he was killed.

Paul Kool, a former Narok County Member of County Assembly for Olokruto ward strongly opposed the claims that their relative was a thief, saying he was a hard-working man and a renowned consultant who was set to graduate this year with a Masterโ€™s Degree in statistics.

โ€œOur kin was at the peak of his career. We do not want to believe that he was a thief because there is no evidence that he has ever stolen anyoneโ€™s property,โ€ he said.

Sayialel Mankuyio said they heard of his death via social media that made them rush to the mortuary where they found their brother.

โ€œWhat hurts us most is the allegations that our brother was a thief. We believe he was killed on other grounds but not because of stealing,โ€ he lamented.

Philip Mankuyio called on the police to carry out a thorough investigation and unveil what transpired before the death of their kin, refuting claims that he was killed by a mob.
