Rodrygo has reportedly snubbed Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool for Tottenham
The club will cover his full €235,000 weekly salary, though it remains unclear if the loan includes a 2026 permanent transfer option.
Defensa Central, a publication closely linked to Real Madrid, reports that the club has agreed with Tottenham on a season-long loan deal for Rodrygo.
Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal were the clubs most interested in Rodrygo’s services. According to market reports, Pep Guardiola even had a verbal agreement with the Brazilian footballer.
However, none of the top contenders have made a concrete move, and Real Madrid has grown tired of waiting.

After journalist Jorge Nicola, considered the Brazilian equivalent of Fabrizio Romano, asserted that ‘Rodrygo will definitely transfer to the Premier League,’ it has been reported that Los Blancos have agreed to a season-long loan for the winger with Tottenham.
It is not yet clear if the deal includes an option for a permanent transfer in 2026. However, it is confirmed that the club, which also features Radu Drăgușin, will cover the Brazilian international’s entire salary. He currently earns €235,000 per week at the Bernabéu.
Following the 1-0 victory against Osasuna, a match where Rodrygo remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes, coach Xabi Alonso was once again asked about his future.
His response: “It was just one match. If in three months he still has very few minutes, that’s a different story. Today, we are only talking about a single game and a technical decision I made. Of course, I am counting on Rodrygo.”
However, the Brazilian wants to be among the leading players, a status that has been harder to maintain following Kylian Mbappé’s arrival in Madrid last summer.
He has remained in the background under Carlo Ancelotti, and Xabi Alonso has shown little interest in giving him a chance to step back into the spotlight. Consequently, a move to the Premier League is the logical step for Rodrygo.
Tottenham is not the ideal solution for him, as he desired a move to a top-tier club, nor for Real Madrid, who had hoped to sell him permanently for a fee estimated between €90-100 million. They intended to use that money to sign Adam Wharton, for whom Crystal Palace is demanding €80 million.
