Authorities in Kuresoi North have intensified the war on illicit brews, destroying more than 1,100 litres of kangara during an intelligence-led operation in Ses-Boinet Village, near Bararget Forest.

The Friday morning raid was spearheaded by the Staff Officer Operations (SOOPs) for Kuresoi North and executed by a multi-agency team comprising officers from Sirikwa Police Station and National Government Administration Officers from Nyota Location and Olbumbu Sub-Location.

According to police, the team uncovered and destroyed both the illegal brew and brewing equipment used in the trade. However, the suspects behind the operation fled the scene before arrest. Authorities have since launched a manhunt to track them down.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating harmful alcoholic substances that endanger public health and security.

The agency commended the collaborative approach of security teams and urged the public to continue supporting the campaign by providing intelligence on illicit activities.

The crackdown in Kuresoi North is part of a wider nationwide effort to curb the proliferation of illegal alcohol and drugs, which have claimed lives and ruined livelihoods in several counties.
