A recent survey by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics highlights the rising cost of business-enabling services in Kenya in 2024.

Electricity emerged as the most significant expense, with 70.1 per cent of respondents citing it as the highest cost, followed by financial services at 58.5 per cent.

Immigration services (55%) and single business permits (51.8%) also rank high.

Construction (43.2%), internet (33.4%), environmental services (28.4%), and water supply (22.7%) are comparatively lower but still notable.

The findings reflect the financial pressures entrepreneurs face, emphasising the need for streamlined, cost-effective services to support business growth and sustainability in Kenya.
