A family in Nakuru is mourning a man who died in a terrible accident while he was test-driving a car, together with his grandfather and a mechanic.

Paul Mwangi, his grandfather and a mechanic were aboard the ill-fated vehicle, which was meant to take a short test drive to check if the car was in good shape.

The vehicle, which belonged to his grandfather, had been taken to the garage after developing some mechanical issues, and after it was fixed, they decided to do a quick test drive.

It was during this drive that the unimaginable happened.

Vehicles which were shared on social media showed the grisly scene as the truck crashed on top of the saloon car.

Paul was stuck in the wreckage for some time before the police, helped by the members of the public, managed to retrieve him while he was unresponsive. He was later confirmed dead.

His grandfather and the mechanic escaped with minor injuries.

Kenyans react to Nakuru accident

Sospeter Sos, who was an eyewitness said.

“We were behind that lorry man..the small car lost control.. the driver of the small car died helplessly because we could not remove the lorry.. luckily, 2 people came out well and sound from that car. The conductor of the lorry got a minor injury, but the driver of the lorry was not injured. Tushukuru Mungu sana hii maisha kutoka na kurudi home safe ni baraka.”
