American YouTuber J Rello is cutting his Kenyan trip short after facing massive backlash online and on the ground for disparaging remarks he made about women in Nairobi.

The Atlanta-based content creator went viral midweek after posting a video criticizing the capital’s nightlife, claiming that “God just didn’t bless Kenya with pretty women” and dismissing Nairobi’s social scene as “average and disappointing.”

The comments ignited a fiery storm on social media, with Kenyans flooding his platforms to clap back. Many accused him of disrespect, “poor taste,” and projecting “sex tourism vibes” in his commentary.

The backlash escalated so intensely that Rello admitted he was “basically hiding in [his] BnB” as the criticism mounted. He later announced that he had booked a flight out of Kenya, declaring:

“I’d rather get kicked to the curb by women in Atlanta than stay here.”
