According to the Global Peace Index 2025 by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), Ghana, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Botswana, and Mauritius are Africa’s most peaceful nations.

The annual study ranks 163 countries based on indicators such as societal safety, ongoing conflict, and militarisation.

Kenya placed 31st out of 44 African countries.

 The data underscores regional differences in stability and safety across the continent.
