The matter was also compounded by parentsโ€™ safety worries about the teaching staff, with one parent specifically pointing out unease over a teacher they had seen at the school.

“So, we saw him taking a border-border here, and the students say that this is the teacher who slapped another girl. So, we are also worried like parents. We are not secure and sure about our kids, so we will leave here,” the parent stated.

The lockout has left Form 4 candidates, in their final year of high school, unable to attend classes at a crucial stage in their studies.

The standoff traces back to events earlier this month. On September 8, St Georgeโ€™s Girlsโ€™ Secondary School was shut down after overnight student protests.

The unrest was reportedly sparked by claims that a teacher assaulted a student who had stepped out of the dormitory to watch the lunar eclipse on Sunday night.

Dagoretti North Deputy County Commissioner announced the closure, saying the decision was made by security officials and the board pending investigations.

The incident is said to have ignited widespread anger among students, fueling chaos that stretched through the night.

Police officers were dispatched to restore calm, while anxious parents flocked to the school to ensure their childrenโ€™s safety.

By Monday morning, students were seen gathered outside the school compound as administrators, law enforcement, and parents tried to contain the crisis.
