Speaking during a public address, Waiguru humorously recalled her time as a single woman, noting that no man from Kirinyaga showed interest in her until Kamotho, who saw her on television, approached her and eventually won her heart.

Waiguru emphasised that her husband is not a politician and does not participate in her public engagements, offering only the support expected within a household.

She questioned why some leaders continue to drag his name into political narratives, urging them to respect personal boundaries.

The governor also hinted at her political readiness, stating she is ‘warming up’ and encouraged unity among leaders to ensure the county continues to progress.
