Arsenal made a strong statement with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, a win that briefly sent them to the top of the Premier League.ย

The match was a great showcase for the teamโ€™s new players, as midfielder Martรญn Zubimendi scored twice and striker Viktor Gyokeres added another goal.ย

The win gives Arsenal a big confidence boost and signals that their recent signings are fitting in well, while it proved to be a difficult start for Forestโ€™s new manager, Ange Postecoglou.

The matchโ€™s standout player was undoubtedly Martรญn Zubimendi.ย

The Spanish midfielder, making his mark since his transfer from Real Sociedad, scored a stunning brace.ย

His first goal came in the 31st minute with a powerful volley from the edge of the box that put Arsenal ahead.ย

He completed his incredible performance in the second half, adding a header from a well-placed cross to seal the win.ย

Zubimendiโ€™s two goals showcased not only his technical skill but also his ability to contribute offensively, providing a new dimension to Arsenalโ€™s midfield.

Arsenalโ€™s early control of the game was briefly interrupted when captain Martin Odegaard was forced to leave the pitch due to a shoulder injury, with young Ethan Nwaneri stepping in as a replacement.ย

The home sideโ€™s defense, anchored by new signing Cristhian Mosquera, was solid and limited Forest to just one shot on target throughout the match, keeping a clean sheet for goalkeeper David Raya.

Arsenalโ€™s attack was clinical and efficient, with both new and old faces working together seamlessly.ย

Just seconds into the second half, the team doubled its lead when Eberechi Eze, on his first start for the club, delivered a perfectly weighted cross for Viktor Gyokeres.ย

The Swedish striker, a key summer signing, made a simple tap-in to score his second home goal of the season.

Although Forest attempted to push back, their efforts were largely contained.ย

A well-struck shot from Chris Wood was spectacularly saved by David Raya, who pushed the ball onto the crossbar.ย

While the visitors showed flashes of the high-pressing style that Postecoglou is known for, they were unable to break through a determined Arsenal defense.

This victory is a significant one for Arsenal, not just for the points but for the momentum it provides ahead of a challenging week that includes a Champions League match against Athletic Bilbao and a crucial Premier League match against Manchester City.ย

The quick integration of the new players is a clear signal that the teamโ€™s depth and quality are ready for a title push.

For Nottingham Forest, the defeat marks a tough start for Ange Postecoglou.ย

His team struggled to implement his bold attacking philosophy against a top-tier opponent, but with a Carabao Cup match coming up against Swansea, he will have an opportunity to further shape his squad.ย

While the loss extends their winless streak against Arsenal, the team will be looking to build on their flashes of potential as they continue their season.
