Singer and actress Avril says she’s in a new season of life ,one where her creativity is led by faith and intentional connection with the Holy Spirit.
Speaking passionately about purpose, she revealed that her artistic expression is no longer just talent-driven but spiritually inspired.
In an interview on TV47’s Dr Ofweneke Tonight show, Avril shared that her relationship with God now plays a central role in both her personal life and music career.
When asked if a gospel transition was in sight, she revealed: “I actually have a gospel song in my album, there was an album called Spirit, and it has a beautiful worship song.”
But it’s more than just one track, Avril says her life is guided entirely by divine alignment.
“I’m very in the spirit. The Holy Spirit guides me. I have angels around me. When I pray, I ask for direction… and I follow it.”
Reflecting deeply on human purpose, she contrasted mankind with nature:
“A tree knows it’s meant to provide shade and fruit. A cow knows it gives milk and meat. But human beings were made in God’s image ,with free will ,so we must seek our purpose. Without guidance, we lose our way.”
For Avril, music has always been a gift from God, and she feels most aligned when she steps into that calling.
“Every time I tap into Avril, the brand I’ve built for over 20 years, I feel like I’m exactly where I belong.”
