Busia Governor Paul Otuoma has suffered a setback after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) suspended the ODM Party delegatesโ€™ elections held on August 29, 2025.

The Tribunal issued interim orders following a petition filed by Moses Ouma, who challenged the results of the exercise. The court agreed with Oumaโ€™s plea, suspending the declaration of results pending the hearing and determination of the case.

As a result, ODM has been barred from using the list of delegates forwarded from the contested elections until further notice.

โ€œPending the hearing and determination of this application, this Honourable Tribunal hereby issues an interim order suspending the declaration of the ODM Busia County Delegates election results of August 29, 2025, and restrains the respondents or any person acting on their behalf from using the forwarded list,โ€ the Tribunal ruled.

The court further directed that the suspension will apply to any subsequent party elections or functions that rely on the disputed delegatesโ€™ list.

The matter is scheduled for mention on September 24, 2025. The Tribunal also ordered that the complaint and notice of motion dated September 12, 2025, be served on the respondents and interested parties immediately.

Governor Otuoma and the interested parties have been directed to file their responses within seven days, while the complainant will have three days thereafter to reply.
