When Mobego Primary School held its commissioning ceremony, few expected that a young girl’s poem would move the crowd to tears, and change her life forever.

It all started when Dorcas, a bright student, took to the stage and recited a heartfelt poem that captured the attention of everyone present.

Daktari Kelvin Kipchirchir Ufa told TUKO.co.ke that one of those in attendance was Bomet Central Member of Parliament Nelson Koech.

Many were impressed that the seven-year-old, who was born with a disability on the hands, did not allow her physical challenge deter her passion.

The family’s humble request was simple, a motorbike to ease Dorcas’ daily 4-kilometre journey to school and help her parents in their small business.

It was a seemingly simple plea but which would make a huge difference both for the student and her family.

True to his word, Koech finally delivered a brand new motorbike to Dorcas’ family, bringing immense relief to her mother, who had been carrying Dorcas on her back to school every morning.

The emotional handover marked not just a gesture of goodwill but a symbol of hope for the future of the Grade 2 girl.

Elsewhere, comedian-turned-philanthropist Eric Omondi helped struggling Gengetone artiste Shalkido using donations from his Sisi Kwa Sisi fans.

Eric was compelled to step up after Shalkido had appealed for help due to financial difficulties and offered a glimpse of his pitiable living condition.

The social media influencer shared a video of himself gifting Shalkido the motorbike, along with insurance cover and the logbook.
