Curtains have fallen for Mzee Thomas Okang’a Asango.
Until his demise, he was the Chaiman Suba Council of Elders.
According to Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi who served as area MP, Mzee Okang’a was a respected elder.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mzee Thomas Okang’a Asango, the Chairman of the Suba Council of Elders,” he stated.
He added that as Chief of the then larger Gwassi region, his tenure was marked by remarkable fairness, earning respect during an era when chiefs rarely enjoyed public favour and support.
“In him, we have lost a patriarch, a founding father of the Gwassi locations, and a profound repository of wisdom and community history,” Mbadi stated.
