They kicked off the tournament against two-time winners DR Congo on August 3, which they comfortably won thanks to Austine Odhiambo’s brilliant goal

Tanzania coach sends warning to Morocco ahead of CHAN showdown
In their second match against Angola, they had to fight hard after Marvin Nabwire was sent off in the 20th minute, with the score level at 1-1 following Odhiambo’s equaliser.

They fought bravely for more than 70 minutes to earn a point, a result that ultimately dealt a blow to Angolaโs hopes of reaching the quarter-finals.
In their third match, they faced Morocco, the two-time champions and favourites to win the 2024 edition.
They went head-to-head with the Atlas Lions for most of the first half before Chrispine Erambo was shown a red card for a dangerous tackle. Ryan Ogam’s brilliant goal was enough to hand Kenya the win.
Ogam also scored the winning goal in their last group game against Zambia.
The South African’s three competitive wins as Harambee Stars coach have come at CHAN 2024. He sent a strong message to their opponents.

This is Kenyaโs first time participating in CHAN, and reaching the quarter-finals marks a historic achievement for McCarthy and his team.
The islanders performed incredibly well in the group stage, finishing second behind Tanzania. Their only defeat came against the hosts.
They began their campaign with a draw and a defeat but finished with two wins. Madagascar drew with Mauritania, lost to Tanzania and then beat the Central African Republic and Burkina Faso.

In a related story, TUKO.co.ke reported that Yanga official Ally Kamwe hit back at Benni McCarthy, who appeared to warn Tanzania.
McCarthy took a jab at the Taifa Stars, offering them a sarcastic wish of good luck ahead of their match against Morocco.
Kamwe responded to the comments, telling McCarthy to be prepared for a tough game against Madagascar.
