Rongo, Migori County –  Detectives in Migori County are investigating a chilling murder case after a decomposed body was discovered inside the cabin of a parked lorry in Rongo Town.

The body, suspected to be male, was found on August 10, 2025, after security guards at the Rongo Taxi Yard noticed a foul smell and an unusual swarm of flies around a Mercedes-Benz lorry.

When police arrived and forced open the cabin, they discovered the body lying behind the driver’s seat, showing extensive burn scars on the face, stomach, and left leg — injuries believed to have been caused by acid.

Witnesses told police they saw the lorry being parked hastily on the night of Friday, August 8, by two men. Investigators believe the victim was murdered elsewhere, doused with acid, and then abandoned inside the lorry.

The motive of the murder remains unknown.

The body has been taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination as detectives pursue leads in the case. Authorities are urging members of the public with information to come forward.
