Mogadishu (HOL) – Somalia’s Dekadaha FC say they are fully prepared for their CAF Confederation Cup tie against Sudan’s Alzamala Sports Club, scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium.
The squad has been training in both Mogadishu and Nairobi in the lead-up to the fixture. Head coach expressed confidence after weeks of intensive preparation, highlighting the players’ focus and determination.
Ahead of the team’s departure, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur “Ameriko,” General Director of Mogadishu Port and former Somali ambassador to Kenya, hosted a farewell ceremony in Mogadishu. He urged the players to represent Somalia with pride.
“Dekadaha FC carries the name of the nation, and we are committed to supporting any team that elevates Somalia’s image,” Ameriko said, adding that a victory would be a symbol of national pride.
The match comes a day after Kenya Police defeated Mogadishu City Club 3-1 in their CAF Champions League debut at Nyayo Stadium. The FKF Premier League champions are now well-placed for a second-round clash against Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman. Somalia currently lacks CAF-approved venues, meaning its clubs are forced to play continental home matches abroad.
