Kenyan artist Dyana Cods has issued a public apology after facing heavy criticism for a recent post that appeared to show support for the Government amid ongoing nationwide protests.

Dyana apologized to Kenyans stating that her initial post was sarcasm and not a show of support for the Government. She added that the message was meant as a joke and expressed regret for any offense caused.

Taking to her Instagram, the Set It hit maker clarified that her controversial post was misunderstood and was never meant to endorse the Government.

โ€œSorry to the people I offended. Ilikuwa inside joke, kwani hamjui jokes? It was a sarcasm post towards the Government, ata nyinyi mnajua gava zii. I stand with the people,โ€ she stated.

In her initial post, the artist seemed to support the Government, a statement that sparked widespread backlash online, prompting her to issue an apology.

โ€œJust know a country with bad governance is better than one with no governance. You canโ€™t change the current leaders but you can change the income generation of leadership. I love my president and I stand by that,โ€ She wrote.
