The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a Nairobi police officer for allegedly soliciting and receiving a bribe in connection with a defilement case.

Police Constable Philip Ochieng Adongo, stationed at Sarangombe Police Post, is accused of demanding KSh 4,000 from a complainant as an inducement to arrest a suspect accused of defiling the complainantโ€™s daughter. The case was originally reported at Sarangombe Police Post under OB No. 16/18/07/2025.

On August 13, 2025, EACC conducted an operation leading to the arrest of PC Adongo and a civilian, George Otieno Oywer, who allegedly received the bribe on behalf of the officer. Both suspects were taken to the EACC Integrity Centre for processing.

The Commission emphasized that the arrest underscores its ongoing commitment to combating bribery at service delivery points, aiming to restore public confidence and improve service delivery to all Kenyans.
