Learners in the country have been asked to embrace computer studies to meet the rising demand across the world for people literate in the field.
According to Joseph Ngaira Busiega, the Chief of Staff in the office the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, computer literacy is a necessity across the globe and the study in it will thrust learners in the already abundant job market.
โThere is need for learners across the country to take computer studies seriously as it is very much marketable,โ observed Busiega.
He said the world was undergoing industrial revolution hence need to empower learners to be competitive in the job market.Busiega said this over the weekend after donating 20 state of the art laptops to Friends Malava Girls school on bhalf of the PCS.
Present were the school Principal Rose Abuko and Board of management chair Francis Murambi.Other schools that benefited included Malava and Lukala primary that got five laptops each.
He encouraged the young people to seriously learn coputer as there was more online jobs paying well where they could earn at the comfort of their homes using a laptop and internet connection.
โInformation technology (IT), is the current equalizer and the likes of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerbug are a living testimonies of how internet has changed their lives and even in Kenya the government is digitizing all its services.โ
The school principal expressed gratitude towards the gestures stating it will impact well on our academic and will improve our admission too.
