Sr. Network Engineer, DFSย โ€“ย ()

Role Purpose

The role of Senior Network Engineer (DFS) to design, implement, and manage the network infrastructure that underpins our DFS platform deployed. The role requires expertise in DFS transaction flows, security, reliability, and scalability, coupled with strong knowledge of Huawei network solutions and financial-grade networking best practices.

This engineer will play a critical role in ensuring secure, high-performance, and highly available connectivity across data centres, cloud, and service endpoints supporting our DFS ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Architecture

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Design and optimize DFS network architecture across on-premises, cloud, and containerized microservice platforms.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Ensure resilient connectivity for DFS transaction flows (USSD, mobile apps, agent networks, APIs, payment switches).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Work closely with application/microservice teams to provide network-aware designs for containerized deployments.

DFS Infrastructure

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Implement and support Huawei core network elements powering DFS platforms (e.g., Huawei CBS, Wallet, Mobile Money, Payment Gateways).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Configure and maintain Huawei firewalls, switches, load balancers, and SDN solutions in DFS contexts.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Apply Huawei CloudCampus/Agile Controller/SR/Firewall capabilities for DFS infrastructure security and efficiency.

Performance & Monitoring

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Build network monitoring and observability dashboards for DFS transactionย performance, latency, and throughput.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Proactively troubleshoot and resolve network-related bottlenecks in DFS microservices and container environments.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Conduct capacity planning to handle DFS transaction growth.

Security & Compliance

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Implement DFS security standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001) with focus on data-in-motion encryption and secure channeling.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Configure and maintain firewall rules, VPNs, and API gateway connectivity for DFS integrations with banks, telcos, and third parties.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Enforce segmentation and zero-trust networking for microservices and APIs.

Collaboration & Leadership

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Work with DevOps, Application, and Security teams to integrate networking into CI/CD pipelines for DFS deployments.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership for network operations in DFS projects.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย Contribute to DFS network roadmap and modernization initiatives.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย CCNP (Mandatory), ITIL v4 Foundation (Preferred), CCIE (Added Advantage), Security Certifications (e.g., CCSA, NSE, or Cisco Security).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Huawei HCIE or HCNP in Routing & Switching, Security, or Cloud will be an added advantage.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Minimum of 10+ years in IP Network operations, with at least 3+ years in a senior Engineering role handling complex enterprise network environments.

Skills & Competencies

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Deep hands-on experience managing large-scale enterprise networks, including Cisco SD-WAN, SD-Access, and Nexus-based Data Center switching fabrics.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Strong understanding of Data Center Networks (DCN), high-availability architectures, virtualization layers, cabling standards, and critical infrastructure dependencies.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Experience with enterprise-grade load balancers (e.g., F5, Citrix ADC) for application availability, SSL offloading, and traffic distribution in multi-tier environments.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Exposure to cloud networking and connectivity models (e.g., ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, VNET peering) in platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Hands-on expertise with Huawei networking technologies: Huawei Firewalls (USG Series), Switches (CE/S Series), Routers (NE Series).

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Huawei Agile Controller, iMaster NCE, SD-WAN, and CloudCampus.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Experience supporting containerized/microservice platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift/AKS) with integrated networking.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Strong background in network security, load balancing, HA, and failover in financial environments.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย Familiarity with integration across DFS partners (banks, telcos, aggregators).
