The president, William Ruto aide Farouk Kibet, has led a most successful fund drive for the personโs living with disabilities drawn from across Malava subcounty where millions of shillings were raised to empower them with the president own contributionof Kshs 3million with Kibet giving Ksh 1 million.
In the event that attended by the speaker of National assembly Moses Wetangโula and members of Parliament Innocent Mugabe of Likuyani and Emmanuel Wangwe of Navakholo,Kibet has urged the Parliamentarians to draft and pass a bill that seeks to have all positions of nominated leaders starting from the county,national and Senate assemblies to be reserved for PWDS.
He also called on both national and county governments not to tax businesses of individuals living with disabilities.
While promising to deliver ten containers for the group that has over 4,000 members, Kibet also said no PWDS should be taxed as they purchase motor vehicles as they serve as supportive devices for those who canโt walk and it eas punitive to tax them.
Kibet also gave Kshs 1 million towards the construction of Malava primary school disabled classroom as Wetangโula promised to fund another classroom.
The event saw electorates confirm their support for the government promising to hand Ruto a second term in the 2027 general elections.
Kibet also took issue with the individuals whom he said lacked an agenda but were crisscrossing the constituency selling tribalism and hatred among communities that they have no space in current political arena maintaining that the Ruto administration is all accommodative and no one will sell fear to the electorates.
