President William Rutoโs aide, Faruk Kibet, is set to visit Malava Constituency on Monday, August 25, 2025, to join mourners in honouring the late Enock Andanje โ a former school principal and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) parliamentary aspirant.
Andanje, who had emerged as a frontrunner for the party ticket, collapsed a week ago and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. His burial is scheduled for August 28 at his Manda village home, with Kibet expected to spearhead a fundraiser to support the family in meeting funeral expenses.
Describing Andanjeโs passing as a major setback, Kibet noted that the loss would be deeply felt by the party, which was optimistic about securing victory in the upcoming Malava by-election slated for November 27, 2025. The by-election was necessitated by the death of sitting MP Malulu Injendi earlier this year.
At least four aspirants are now seeking the UDA ticket, among them West Kabras MCA David Ndakwa, lawyer Leonard Shimaka, former principal Simon Kangwana, and Rhyan Injendi, son of the late MP.
Andanjeโs sudden demise has reshaped the political dynamics in Malava, where he was widely considered a strong contender for the UDA nomination.
