A female TikToker known as Bantu Girl has sparked reactions after publicly offering to host Kaluma Boy in Nairobi, just days after he received overwhelming support from Kenyans.

Kaluma Boy, who has touched many with his heartfelt videos documenting life in his village while caring for his father who suffered a stroke in 2024, recently benefited from a major fundraiser. On Sunday, September 28, TikTok creators, celebrities, and church leaders traveled to Chinga village to show support. They brought donations, gifts, and words of encouragement, leaving the young man and his family deeply moved.

Moved by the response, Bantu Girl recorded a video saying she was ready to host Kaluma in Nairobi. She explained that she has an extra room and lives close to the CBD, making it convenient for him.

โ€œHello, Kalumaโ€™s family. I am glad for him. I saw that this young man is coming to Nairobi. I wondered why I should not host him, yet I have an extra room. My place is quiet and conducive. He will feel at home,โ€ she said.

Bantu Girl went further to say that Kaluma might need guidance on handling money, adding that she could help him manage his finances. โ€œHe deserves to stay here with me. I also saw that he is young and does not know how to manage money. I will safely keep his money. We can live together and build together,โ€ she added.

Her comments quickly spread across social media, sparking mixed reactions. Some Kenyans criticized her offer, questioning her intentions.

One user asked, โ€œWhy canโ€™t you host his father?โ€ Another wrote, โ€œThese people donโ€™t even see that the money is meant for a sick person. In whose hands are we safe?โ€ Others joked about wanting to be hosted themselves or suggested she redirect her energy elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Kaluma Boyโ€™s mother expressed deep gratitude to Kenyans for their generosity. She revealed that despite financial hardship, her husband had sacrificed part of his tea bonus to buy their son a phone for content creation. At the time, she had been worried about the decision, since they were repaying loans, but she admitted the purchase turned out to be a blessing.

The overwhelming support from Kenyans has not only eased the familyโ€™s struggles but also highlighted the power of social media in mobilizing community aid. Bantu Girlโ€™s bold proposal, however, has added a twist to the story, leaving many debating whether her intentions are genuine or self-serving.

Kaluma Boy continues to receive encouragement from Kenyans, who remain invested in his journey of caring for his father while building his presence online.
