FKF president Hussein Mohammed has announced plans to set up official fan zones for supporters who miss tickets for the Kenya vs Zambia match.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Hussein Mohammed has announced plans to set up official fan zones for supporters who cannot attend the Harambee Starsโ final group match against Zambia on Sunday, August 17.
During a press briefing on Tuesday, August 12, Mohammed said the fan zones will provide a โsafe and controlled environmentโ for supporters to enjoy the match.
โWe are making arrangements to set up official fan zones where supporters who might not have an opportunity to come to the stadium to watch the Harambee Starsโ final group match against Zambia this Sunday,โ he stated. โDetails of these exciting fan zones will be shared shortly as we continue making relevant preparations.โ
Mohammed stressed the importance of maintaining discipline during the tournament to safeguard Kenyaโs chances of hosting more major competitions in the future.
โLet us work together to ensure that Kenya continues to host major tournaments and showcase our passion for the game in the right way,โ he said.

The FKF boss also expressed concern over mounting fines incurred after every match due to crowd control breaches and other security lapses, saying they would negatively impact the federationโs budget.
โWe are deeply concerned about the fines we receive daily after every match. This will set us back and force us to go back to the drawing board to find resources we had not planned for,โ he lamented.
Mohammed urged fans attending Sundayโs match to ensure they have valid tickets to prevent a repeat of the security breach that occurred last Sunday during the Kenya vs. Morocco game.
โIf you are coming to the stadium, please bring a valid ticket. If you do not have a ticket, kindly watch it from home. We cannot overemphasise this point,โ he said.
He further thanked members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the security teams for their continued efforts to ensure safety during the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN).
โLet us cooperate with the security teams. You will see a difference on Sunday. We want to assure you there will be a difference this Sunday in terms of how we will play,โ Mohammed concluded.
