Former Sailors Gang member Shalkido has made a public plea for help, revealing his struggles to provide for his family. In an emotional Instagram post on Monday, August 25, 2025, the artist confessed that since the popular Gengetone group split, his life has been a constant battle.

โ€œAs a Kenyan artiste and as a father, I have reached the end,โ€ he wrote. โ€œI have tried my very best to support my family, but everything keeps falling apart. I have tried every hustle, but it has become extremely tough.โ€

Feeling he has exhausted all his options, Shalkido directly appealed to comedian and activist Eric Omondi for support. He expressed that even the simple gift of a motorcycle would be enough to restart his hustle and provide for his family with dignity.

โ€œI am sincerely humbled to ask for your support. Even if I could get just a motorbike to start hustling again and support my family, I would be deeply grateful,โ€ he wrote, adding that his request was not out of pride but a desperate need for survival.

Shalkido also called on his fans and fellow Kenyans to help share his message so it could reach Omondi. His words reflect the pain of a parent feeling powerless, yet determined to find a way to take care of his loved ones.

The artist, once a lead singer for the Sailors Gang, has since ventured into Mugithi music. His current plea echoes a similar call for help he made in early January, where he spoke about the hostility and death threats he and his former manager, Mwalimu Rachel, faced following disputes over the groupโ€™s YouTube channel.
