His death marks the end of an era for one of the most influential figures in global fashion.
Armani was born in Piacenza, Italy, in 1934. In the 1970s and 1980s, he became famous around the world for his clean, tailored style that changed the way men and women dress.

His sharp suits became a symbol of power dressing, and he went on to build one of the world’s most famous luxury empires, which included clothing, perfumes, accessories, hotels, and even sports sponsorships.
Other designers and international celebrities have praised Armani’s groundbreaking work in style and elegance.
Vogue called him ‘the Italian designer who changed the shape of fashion.’
Armani stayed very involved in his company until he died, even though he had health problems in the past few years. This kept the brand’s signature mix of sophistication and simplicity.
According to CNN, in the world of high-end products today, where conglomerates like LVMH (the owner of Louis Vuitton) and Kering (the parent company of Gucci) rule, Armani was one of the few designers who still fully owned his company.

As of now, there is no clear successor to the Armani business, which Bloomberg Intelligence analysts said was worth between KSh 1.2 trillion and KSh 1.5 trillion in 2024.

Armani had found love in Sergio Galeotti, who sadly passed away due to AIDS in 1985.
The funeral plans are likely to be private, which fits with Armani’s well-known desire for privacy.
A public memorial will probably be held in Milan, where his legacy still has a big impact on fashion around the world.
