Harambee Stars defender Suleiman Mansur has revealed that he no longer answers calls from unfamiliar numbers, choosing instead to focus on football, family, and close friends.
“Where were you when I was struggling?” Mansur posed during a recent interview, addressing the sudden surge of attention following Kenya’s spirited run at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The national team’s strong performance saw them reach the quarter-finals, earning a KSh 5.5 million reward jointly pledged by President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga. The financial boost has injected fresh motivation into the squad, who are now determined to push for even greater continental success.
Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy praised the achievement, describing it as a potential turning point for Kenyan football. He urged his players to remain disciplined and build on their momentum as they prepare for upcoming qualifiers.
For Mansur, however, the focus remains simple — keeping distractions at bay and staying fully committed to his career on the pitch.
