Ian Otieno and Brian Bwire had mixed fortunes in South Africa.
Harambee Stars goalkeepers Ian Otieno and Brian Bwire had different outcomes for their respective South African teams as one suffered a big loss while another one won.
Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno started his third straight match for his South African club but it went horribly wrong.
Otieno, who plays for Richards Bay, had featured in two straight matches as the KwaZulu-Natal club won back-to-back matches both 1-0 against Stellenbosch FC and Magesi FC.
However, their hopes of winning a third straight went up in smoke when they faced perennial champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday as they were on the end of a 4-1 thrashing.

Sundowns were two goals to the good inside 27 minutes when Tashreeq Matthews broke the deadlock after 15 minutes before Malibongwe Khoza made it 2-0 in the 27th minute.
Malawian Gabadinho Mhango would pull one back for Richards Bay three minutes later but Iqraam Rayners scored a penalty for Sundowns in the 41st minute for a 3-1 halftime lead for the Premier Soccer League champions.
The fourth goal arrived after 62 minutes when Matthews completed his brace after finding Otieno in no-manโs land to score into an empty net.

It was the fourth defeat in nine matches for Richards Bay, who have won three games, and drawn two to stay 10th on the 16-team table with 11 points.
For Oteino, it was not a great outing as his positioning was questionable a couple of times as his team suffered their heaviest loss this season.
He will hope that the performance does not affect his position in the team, having lost his place to Uganda Salim Magoola, last season.
Meanwhile, while Otieno is licking his wounds, his counterpart Brain Bwire is in celebratory mood after he kept a rare clean sheet as his club Polokwane City ended Sekhukhune Unitedโs unbeaten run.
Polokwane City beat Sekhukhune United 1-0, their third clean sheet in nine matches and returned to winning ways after their shock 1-0 loss to struggling Orbit College in midweek.
Bwire has been a constant figure in goal for Rise and Shine and has been pulling off impressive performances as the side have won four and drawn two of their nine games to move to fourth spot on the table with 15 points.
