The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has reaffirmed its commitment to easing traffic congestion and improving road safety along key national corridors through the Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit (A8) and Nairobi–Mai Mahiu–Naivasha (A8 South) road projects.
During a stakeholder engagement and sensitization forum held at the Nakuru County Government Offices, KeNHA officials met with county leaders and development partners to review the project scope and progress towards commencement.
The forum focused on addressing persistent challenges of heavy traffic, long travel times, and safety risks on the two vital routes that serve as economic lifelines for trade and travel.
KeNHA noted that the projects, once completed, will significantly improve mobility, reduce accidents, and enhance the efficiency of transport services across the busy corridor linking Nairobi to the Rift Valley and beyond.
The authority emphasized its readiness to work closely with Nakuru County and other stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation, noting that community participation will be integral to the success of the initiative.
The Nairobi–Nakuru–Mau Summit and Nairobi–Mai Mahiu–Naivasha upgrades are part of ongoing infrastructure investments aimed at supporting Kenya’s Vision 2030 agenda and regional integration.
