Kenyan football is celebrating a major milestone as talented striker Ryan Wesley Ogam, 21, has completed a move from Tusker FC to Austriaโ€™s top league with Wolfsberger AC.ย 

Ogamโ€™s journey from a local hero to a European prospect was fueled by a remarkable season in which he scored 15 goals, and his standout performance at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, where he scored against strong teams like Morocco.ย

This impressive form continued into the CHAN 2024 tournament, where he was one of Kenyaโ€™s key players, netting two crucial goals that helped the national team reach the quarterfinals.ย 

His performances, including a match-winning goal against Morocco, were what ultimately sealed his move to Austria.

Wolfsberger ACโ€™s president, Dietmar Riegler, confirmed the signing and praised Ogamโ€™s talent and potential.ย 

In a statement, Riegler noted, โ€œWe watched Ryan during the last tournament and were impressed by his talent. We have a successful history with young talent from Africa and are delighted to sign the first Kenyan footballer for WAC.โ€ย 

The club sees Ogam as a key addition to their attack and will integrate him into the squad after the current international break.ย
