Kenyan Stars Abroad: Silko Otieno Helps Leicester City Win, Tyler Onyango on Target as Zak Vyner's Bristol Taste Defeat

Otieno made his second league appearance of the season for Leicester during their win over Leicester, while Zak Vyner featured in midfield but couldn’t help Bristol avoid defeat to QPR.

Kenyan youngster Silko Thomas Otieno came off the bench to help Leicester City secure a commanding 3-1 victory over Swansea City on Saturday in the English Championship.

Otieno, making his second league appearance of the season, was introduced late in the match and played the final eight minutes โ€” not long enough to influence the gameโ€™s outcome, but a valuable run-out for the promising winger.

Leicester ended a run of four consecutive draws with an impressive display. Jordan James, Abdul Fatawu, and Jannik Vestergaard all scored for the Foxes, while Adam Idah netted a penalty for Swansea. The win lifted Leicester to third place in the Championship standings.

Fatawuโ€™s thunderous strike from outside the box was one of the highlights, while Vestergaardโ€™s late header sealed the win. Swansea, who have been strong at home under Alan Sheehan, suffered just their second home defeat since February.

Elsewhere, Zak Vyner endured a difficult afternoon as Bristol City fell 2-1 to QPR at Ashton Gate. The Harambee Stars defender, deployed in midfield for the second straight game, picked up a yellow card and struggled to impose himself, finishing with 55% passing accuracy and winning just two of six aerial duels.

Bristol led through Emil Riisโ€™s header before QPR mounted a comeback, with Richard Kone and Paul Smyth scoring in the second half to give the visitors all three points.

In League One, Tyler Onyango had a mixed evening as Stockport County defeated Huddersfield Town 2-1 despite being reduced to 10 men. Onyango was sent off for two yellow cards in five minutes shortly after the restart.

Even with the numerical disadvantage, Stockport looked dangerous on the counterattack. Goals from Oliver Norwood and Odin Bailey ensured the visitors claimed a vital win, while Bojan Radulovicโ€™s late header for Huddersfield proved only a consolation.

In League Two, Vincent Harper starred for Walsall as they came from behind to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 and remain top of the table. Harper provided a superb assist for Aaron Pressleyโ€™s equalizer before the striker added a second to complete the turnaround.

It was another strong weekend for Kenyan players across the English divisions, with Otienoโ€™s continued development at Leicester and Harperโ€™s consistency standing out as major positives.
