Ryan Wesley Ogam has arrived in Vienna, Austria, ready to finalise his move to Wolfsberger AC of the Austrian Bundesliga.

He was welcomed by Ambassador Vallerie Rugene (Deputy Head of Mission in Vienna). Ogam is preparing to sign his contract after the formalities.

What made this possible was Ogam’s sharp scoring record, his standout display in CHAN 2024, and his ability to bounce back from injury qualities that caught Wolfsberger AC’s eye and opened the door to Europe.

Several factors came together including consistent scoring at Tusker FC and CHAN 2024 performances for Kenya helped raise his profile.

His resilience after injury showed he could recover and remain effective.

For Ogam, the move is a chance to prove himself in European football, facing higher competition and for  Kenyan football, it’s more evidence that local players are being noticed abroad.

What Wolfsberger AC & Kenya Expect

Wolfsberger AC President Dietmar Riegler praised Ogam, “We are delighted to welcome Ryan to Wolfsberger AC. He is an exciting young striker with great potential. … Ryan combines natural talent, discipline, hard work, and a hunger to grow.”

Tusker FC Chairman Charles Gacheru said, “Ryan has been an outstanding player for Tusker FC and a true ambassador for Kenyan football … we are equally proud to see him take this big step to Europe.”

Meanwhile, his specific salary or wage details have not been published.

In addition his contract length (number of years) has not been made public and performance bonuses are not confirmed.

Ogam was born on 21 December 2004 in Nairobi. He began in midfield but was converted into a striker at Tusker FC under coach Charles Okere.

In the 2024/25 FKF Premier League season, he scored 15 goals in 17 appearances.

He overcame a knee injury that required surgery, which sidelined him for about three months in early 2025.
