The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested a police officer based in Kibera for allegedly soliciting a bribe in connection with a defilement case.

Police Constable Philip Ochieng Adongo, stationed at Sarangombe Police Post, is alleged to have demanded Ksh4,000 from a complainant to facilitate the arrest of a suspect accused of defiling the complainantโ€™s daughter.

According to EACC, the defilement case had earlier been reported at the police post under OB No. 16/18/07/2025.

On 13th August 2025, the Commission carried out an operation that led to the arrest of PC Adongo and a civilian, George Otieno Oywer, who allegedly received the bribe on behalf of the officer.

Both were taken to the EACC Integrity Centre for processing.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to combating bribery at service delivery points, stressing the need to restore public confidence in law enforcement and to ensure fair access to justice for all Kenyans.
