Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika on Tuesday eulogized MP Kimani Ichungwa’s uncle Mzee James Ikinu Ngugi as a devoted family man and staunch member of PCEA church.
The Governor spoke when she joined National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah and his family during the burial of his uncle, Mzee James Ikinu Ngugi, at his home in Mang’u, Rongai Sub-County.
Kihika described the late Mzee Ikinu, who died aged 91, as a devoted family man and a staunch member of the PCEA Church whose legacy will be remembered for generations.
She condoled with his widow, Esther Wangui, and the entire family.
Kihika used the occasion to urge residents of Nakuru to uphold peace, noting the county’s cosmopolitan nature demands unity and tolerance.
She further assured that road works and other development projects in Rongai will resume once the ongoing rains subside.
On his part MP Ichung’wah said the family was grateful for the years they shared with Mzee Ikinu, describing him as a blessing whose absence would be deeply felt.
The burial was also attended by MPs Paul Chebor (Rongai), David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East), Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West), MCAs led by area representative Isaac Rotok, among other leaders.
