Singer Lydia Jazmine, real name Lydia Nabawanuka, has opened up about the hidden struggles female celebrities face when it comes to dating โ and itโs not as glamorous as people think.
Speaking in an interview, Jazmine revealed that many men are simply too intimidated to approach women who are in the spotlight.
ย According to her, even men with genuine intentions often shy away because of insecurities about status and the fear that celebrities are โtoo high maintenance.โ
โThe funny thing is, most men fear us,โ Jazmine admitted. โThey donโt know how weโll react. Those who truly love us often canโt handle the limelight. Thatโs why we sometimes end up with the wrong people โ the good ones are too scared.โ
The singer confessed that the longest sheโs ever gone single is eight months โ but even now, finding the right partner is a challenge. She says she constantly questions the motives of men who show interest.
And it gets worse โ Jazmine claims some men date female stars with the hidden agenda of secretly recording intimate moments, later threatening to leak them for blackmail.
โWeโre also scared,โ she explained. โWhen a man approaches me, I ask myself so many questions. Some have been recorded without their knowledge or consent. Sometimes you stay with someone you donโt even like just because you feel safer than risking someone new.โ
For Jazmine and many other women in the spotlight, love isnโt about romance โ itโs a careful balancing act between trust, safety, and avoiding heartbreak in the public eye.
