Detectives are investigating a chilling murder in Bonyunyu village, Nyamira County, after the body of a woman was discovered in her home.
The victim, Agnes Moraa Monda, 30, was found lifeless on a chair with visible injuries around her neck. A relative who visited the home raised the alarm after finding her hours after the fatal attack.
Police confirmed that the deceasedโs husband later surrendered to Mokomoni Police Post, saying he feared being lynched by angry villagers.
The man admitted that he and his wife had quarreled before the altercation turned deadly. He is currently in police custody awaiting interrogation and arraignment.
The body was transferred to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have noted a disturbing rise in domestic-related killings in recent months, often linked to love triangles and unresolved disputes.
Many of these cases remain in court, while others have been resolved, police added.
