A 43-year-old man has been freed on cash bail after denying charges of threatening to kill two police officers at Mukuru kwa Reuben Police Station, including the deputy OCS.

According to police reports, Moses Sikuku stormed the station on September 10 wielding a panga and allegedly threatened to hack Inspector Fisher Yego to death. Officers said Sikuku hurled insults, issued death threats, and at one point attempted to strike one officer before being subdued and disarmed.

Police placed him in custody overnight, hoping he would calm down, but by the following day, he allegedly continued to insist he would behead at least two officers he claimed had crossed his path.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) recommended charging Sikuku with threatening to kill. He was arraigned at Makadara Law Courts, where he denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Stephanie Bett.

Sikuku pleaded for lenient bond terms. The magistrate released him on a KSh100,000 bond or an alternative cash bail of KSh50,000, pending the hearing of the case, which is scheduled for February 9, 2026.
