A 45-year-old man has died in a shocking case of a love triangle after he was brutally attacked with stones by a known assailant.

Police confirmed that the victim, identified as Dickson Kazungu, succumbed to severe head injuries after being hit by a stone hurled at him during a confrontation over a woman.

According to authorities, the woman was previously married to the attacker before their separation. However, tensions escalated when she became romantically involved with Kazungu.

The incident occurred along Nyali First Avenue, where the assailant trailed Kazungu before launching the fatal attack. Eyewitnesses reported that stones were hurled at Kazungu, leaving him unconscious.

He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His body has since been transferred to the mortuary for an autopsy.

The assailant fled the scene immediately after the assault and is currently being pursued by police.

Police revealed that the woman linked to the tragic confrontation has been detained for questioning as part of ongoing investigations.

Speaking to reporters, Mombasa police officials confirmed that the case is being treated as murder and that further details will be released once investigations are complete.
