Moses Sikuku in the dock at the Makadara law courts.

A 43-year-old man who stormed Reuben Police station in Makadara Sub-County, Nairobi, while armed with a panga and allegedly attempted to hack the stationโ€™s deputy commander has been charged with threatening to kill.

Moses Sikuku is accused of threatening to kill Inspector of Police Fisher Yegon contrary to section 223 (1) of the Penal Code at the police station on September 10.

He had allegedly threatened that he intended to behead at least two police officers at the station, but was intercepted before beheading Yegon inside the stationโ€™s report office at around 8 pm.

Sikuku reportedly went to the station and found the complainant at the entrance of the report office. He allegedly hurled imprintable insults at Yegon and threatened to chop his head.

The suspect was ordered to drop the panga, but he allegedly started advancing towards Yego, vowing to hack the copโ€™s head.

The alleged perpetrator started confronting Yego and chased after him, attempting to hack him with the panga, before he was apprehended and subdued by other officers at the station who disarmed him.

Armed officers nearby joined Yego and were able to subdue and disarm Sikuku, who was immediately arrested and placed in custody for the offence of creating a disturbance, and the panga was kept as an exhibit.

However, during interrogation, Sikuku allegedly insisted that he intended to behead at least two police officers at the station to cool his anger, and the cops recommended a charge of threatening to kill, which the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution agreed with.

Sikuku denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Stephany Bett of the Makadara Law Courts and sought lenient bail and bond terms.

He was released on a bond of Sh100,0000 and an alternative cash bail of Sh50,0000.

The case will be mentioned on October 29, 202,5, before the hearing starts on February 9 2026.
