Popularly known as Director Tiger, Nelso was once one of the most sought-after gospel music and video producers in Kenya.

He is remembered for producing songs for some of the biggest gospel names, including Bahati, Willy Paul, Christina Shusho, Shiru wa GP, and Janet Atieno.

Among his most notable works is Mama, Bahatiโ€™s breakout hit, which he produced for free after being touched by the young singerโ€™s story.

Today, the man who once dined with stars and worked on chart-topping hits finds himself homeless and sleeping in a stall at Gikomba market.

In an interview with Anthony Wambugu’s Mururi TV, he opened up about struggling to survive and reflected on the choices that changed his life.

His career started at the age of 20 when he landed a government documentary gig that made him his first million.

But with sudden wealth came reckless living. He admits he squandered it all on women and alcohol, losing focus and drifting away from his family.

As the clients dwindled and his fortunes shrank, Tiger moved out of his parentsโ€™ home and soon spiraled into depression triggered by joblessness and a failed relationship.

Though rumors suggested drug abuse, he insists it was depression that almost broke him.

Well-wishers later admitted him to hospital, where he battled the illness but left with a bill of over KSh 130,000.

Now fully recovered but still without a stable income, Tiger lives on Nairobiโ€™s streets, hoping for a second chance.

To make matters worse, he was recently attacked by thugs who assumed he had money. Despite his struggles, he says he has matured and learned from his past.

Tiger believes that all he needs at the moment is a house and a phone, and he will turn his life around.

For the man who once helped build the gospel music scene, his story is a sobering reminder of how quickly fortunes can change, and how resilience can still light a way forward.

One of Tiger’s most controversial moments was in 2018 when he accused Tanzanian songbird Christina Shusho of pretending to be holier-than-thou.

He alleged that the Shusha Nyavu hitmaker was using witchcraft behind the scenes to ruin his life.

Shusho and Tiger fell out after the former accused the director of losing her Canon 7D camera valued at KSh 150,000.

As compensation, the singer supposedly took away his editing machine worth KSh 200,000, after which Tiger accused her of plotting to kill him.
