Nakuru West ODM Chairman Hezron Okiki has welcomed new changes within ODM party that are meant to ensure vibrancy of the party.

In a statement to Newsrooms on Saturday September 13, 2025, Okiki lauded the party headquarters for initiating the changes

“As you are all aware that odm has initiated changes meant to rebrand the party and make it vibrant,” he stated.

One of the things ODM party coined to bring back people’s confidence is decentralization of certificate issuance at the county level which is to be decided by odm members in a transparent nomination by members and presided over by the board headed by the commissioner.

Okiki says the 2027 ODM nominations in Nakuru county at large will not be about who you know, but the voice of the members so long as you have served the party with zeal and zest.

Okiki who is also in the race for the 2027 Nakuru Town West Parliamentary seat, states that among the things to consider are Loyalty, Fidelity and Faithfulness.

He assured those interested in contesting any seat in Nakuru on ODM ticket not fear as there will be fairness.

“I therefore appeal to people with interest in any seat in odm in 2027 not to be afraid because fairness in nakuru will be our shield and defender.Let no one cheat you that one has a connection. Those are mere threats to instill fear,” he said

He added that with the ODM team and officials in nakuru county, they hope and prepare to conduct fair nominations.

According to Okiki, a nominated candidate through fair process will be the darling of the people who must have a competitive attribute to bring the win home on any level of the seat.
