Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi is reportedly edging closer to returning to Yanga after leaving Kaizer Chiefs as pressure mounts on current boss Romain Folz.

Veteran Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi could be about to return to one of his former clubs following reports of talks with Tanzanian giants Yanga.

Nabi is currently out of a job after agreeing to part ways with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs last month and it seems Yanga are ready to pounce.

According to reports in Tanzania, Yanga coach Romain Folz has come under increasing pressure from the clubโ€™s management and fans who are allegedly not impressed by his style just four games into the new season.

The reports claim Yanga have decided to part ways with the 34-year-old Frenchman and are lining up Nabi as his replacement with the 60-year-old having been in Dar es Salaam this week for what he described as โ€œprivet business.โ€

Folz has overseen two games in the league and as many in the CAF Champions League first preliminary round, winning three while drawing one, with their barren draw against Mbeya City on September 30 having left a lot to be desired, hence the clamour for a coaching change.

Nabi knows Yanga very well after working at the club for two years between 2021 and 2023, leading them to four trophies, among them back-to-back league titles, while also guiding the club to the CAF Confederation Cup final for the first time in their history two years ago.

He left Chiefs last month, just six games into his second season at the club, having won four, drawn one and lost another and had led them to their first trophy in 10 years last season as they won the Nedbank Cup which earned them a return to continental football for the first time since 2021.
