Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, and Farouk Kibet today joined residents of Malava for a fundraiser to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The event, hosted by the area MCA, Hon. Peter Wanami, brought together community members, leaders, and well-wishers in a show of solidarity aimed at promoting empowerment, inclusivity, and social support for PWDs.
In his address, Farouk Kibet urged the government to exempt Persons with Disabilities from taxation, stressing that such a move would ease their burden and provide them with greater opportunities to thrive.
On his part, Hon. Innocent Mugabe commended the initiative and applauded the UDA Party for its commitment to ensuring inclusivity in legislation and development programs. He emphasized the importance of community unity in uplifting vulnerable groups.
The leaders further encouraged the people of Malava to remain supportive of the government, noting that true development can only be realized through collaboration between citizens and leadership.
The fundraiser not only highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in addressing the needs of PWDs but also underscored the role of leaders in championing social justice, equality, and empowerment.
