Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions across several counties on Thursday, September 25, 2025, to facilitate routine maintenance on the grid. The outages will run between morning and evening hours, depending on the affected area.

Kamkunji (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Areas to be affected include Jua Kali, Shauri Moyo, Muthurwa Primary, parts of Gikomba, Gikomba Social Hall, DO’s Office Gikomba, Family Bank Gikomba, Co-op Bank Gikomba, BBS Mall, Shell Petrol Station, Ismariot Hotel, Nomad Hotel, Eastleigh High School, Pumwani Boys, Starehe Boys Centre, part of General Waruinge Road, and adjacent customers.

Gilgil (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)The outage will cover the whole of Gilgil Town and areas including Ndume Ltd, Culsons Ltd, Pembroke School, Langalanga, Malewa, NYS, Kenyatta Barracks, 2KA, Garrison, Koilel Secondary School, Milimani, Ngomongo, Utumishi School, ASTU, Gitare, Mawingu, Gatarwa, Diatomite Ltd, Epashikino Hotel, Pelican, Karura, Heaven’s Gate, St. Mary’s Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Serena Hotel, Soysambu, Kasambara, Lemon Valley, Echireria, and adjacent customers.

Kambi Mwanza (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Areas affected include Kambi Mwanza, KWS, Ivakale, Ileho, Shamberere, West Kenya Sugar, Ingavira, Mahira, Shianda, Matende, and adjacent customers.

Nyabikomu (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)The outage will affect Iteresi, Nyabikomu, Engentubi, Engeta, Kwabincha, and adjacent customers.

Kirimiri, Ndithini Mission (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Areas to be affected are Mbogo Estate, Kaguku, Assumption of Mary Ithanga, Ndithini Mission, and adjacent customers.

Kamacharia, Mathioya Polytechnic (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)The affected areas include Kamacharia Market, Kamacharia Girls, Kagumoini Coffee Factory, Agachiku, Kandabibi Market, Warugara Market, Kora Market, Kanorwe Dairy, Kirithiru, Gikindu, Mananga Secondary, Mathioya Polytechnic, and adjacent customers.

Isiolo Airport (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Areas to be affected include Mwangaza Water Supply, Isiolo Airport, Kandebe Market, 78 Tank Battalion, Kambi Sharrif, Osman Ndima, Ntulele Primary, Kisima Borehole, and adjacent customers.

Kagio, Kandongu (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)The outage will cover Kagio Market, Kianjogu Village, Sagana Mission, Sagana Nuts, Kandongu Primary School, Kandongu Market, and adjacent customers.

Mwabungo, Jorori (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Affected areas include Mwabungo, Mvindeni, Ibiza, Kila Kitu, Bongwe, Jorori, and adjacent customers.

Shanzu, Bamburi Cement Staff (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)Areas affected are Bamburi Airstrip, Muzungu Tiles Shanzu, AIC Sham, Bush Bar, Junda Secondary, Jororabi School, Zawadi Apartments, JCC, Bamburi (BCL) Staff Quarters, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power has urged customers in these areas to make prior arrangements and exercise caution when handling electrical appliances during the interruption period.
