Following the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), a five-member committee has been formed to oversee the implementation of the 10-Point Agenda agreed upon by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). The announcement, made today, August 6, 2025, comes five months after the โPrincipals,โ President William Samoei Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, signed the agreement on March 7, 2025.

The MOU, a comprehensive framework for cooperation, aims to address Kenyaโs most pressing challenges and foster a future of inclusive prosperity. The 10-Point Agenda covers a wide range of critical issues, from the full implementation of the NADCO Report to fighting corruption, protecting devolution, and ensuring the rights of the youth. It also includes key commitments on national debt, government efficiency, and compensating victims of past protests and riots.
The newly appointed committee is a diverse group of leaders tasked with ensuring the vision of the MOU becomes a reality. The members are:
A Joint Secretariat, co-led by Executive Secretaries from UDA and ODM, will provide crucial operational support. The committeeโs work, fully funded and facilitated by both parties, is set to begin immediately.
In their official statement, the Principals emphasized that the committee will engage in โinclusive and extensive consultations with members of the public and all relevant stakeholders.โ This includes government departments, independent commissions, civil society, religious institutions, and the private sector, ensuring the implementation process is informed by the diverse needs and aspirations of all Kenyans.
The committeeโs work will be transparent and closely monitored. It will submit progress reports to the Principals every two months and to a joint Kenya Kwanza-ODM Parliamentary Group on a quarterly basis. The Parliamentary Group is scheduled to hold its inaugural sitting on August 18, 2025.
The nation awaits a final comprehensive report on the MOUโs implementation, which is slated for release to the public on March 7, 2026, marking the first anniversary of the historic signing. This new committee represents a powerful commitment to cross-party cooperation and a renewed push to build a stronger, more cohesive Kenya.
